• Honors Geometry is a fast-paced, rigorous course that will provide the fundamental tools of geometric understanding that will support you in all future advanced mathematics courses.

Students taking Honors Geometry should have successfully completed Algebra 1.  This Honors Geometry Summer Prep Packet below contains review materials for the algebraic concepts, skills, and procedures that should be mastered BEFORE entering Honors Geometry in July.  Due to the curricular demands, I will not have time to go back and re-teach Algebra 1.  Our time together must be dedicated to our own curriculum.  Consider this your only formal review of concepts, procedures and skills necessary for Honors Geometry.  I will expect that you have mastered all the topics included in the packet.  If the material is unfamiliar to you, that should be a moment of pause.  Honors Goemetry is designed for students who have thrived in Algebra 1 and earned strong grades with ease.

Remember, this packet, as with all things you produce in my class, should be complete, showing all work with final answers circled, completed in pencil, and should be authentically yours.  However, I recommend that any concepts that are not initially clear are researched via Google, YouTube or Khan Academy so that you have a solid grasp of the concepts and can complete the packet.  I have gone through and found a matching video FOR YOU for each section, so there is no excuse for not doing every problem in the packet. Anything left incomplete sends a very strong message.

Lastly, you WILL be tested on all of these concepts within the first week of school to be sure you are properly placed in a high school, Honors level math class (which is very different from a middle school taught honors math class).
