    Welcome!

    Welcome to Payne JHS and to my science class! I love to learn and I love to share my excitement about learning with others. We are going to have a very fun year exploring science through a series of interactive activities.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have been teaching at Payne since 2013 in both 7th and 8th grades. After earning an M.S. in Geology I spent 23 years working in industry in the field of electron microscopy. When it was time for a change I decided to dream big and returned to earn my M.Ed. at ASU!

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that learning science should be a fun experience full of intellectual challenges and rewards. Whenever possible the learning should be through hands-on experiences that will guide the student to a deeper understanding of the topic.
