Thank you to the Queen Creek Kiwanis Club for sponsoring the Payne Junior High School Kiwanis Club. Our Builders Club is looking forward to working with you!
Students must have a completed parent permission form submitted to the PJHS Builders Club advisor(s), and $15.00 dues paid to participate in Builders Club.
PJHS Builders Club has participated in the following service activities during the past 6 years:
- Used clothing drive
- Trial sized toiletry drive for homeless veterans in Phoenix, Arizona
- Toy drive for local children's hospital
- Animal shelter food and supplies drive
- Feed My Starving Children night
- Thank you letters to veterans
- Thank you cards for teachers/staff/administrators
- Winter holiday craft project for nursing home residents
PJHS Builders Club sponsored a money raising campaign for the American Red Cross hurricane relief efforts. The total raised through the 3rd hour classrooms was $552.00! Ms. Prengel's class raised the most money and earned a donut party. Thank you to all students, parents and school staff that donated.
Members volunteered at the Ryan Elementary School Fall Festival between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, November 3rd. They ran the games at the festival (fishing booth, etc.). The event was a huge success and raised money for Ryan Elementary School.
Over 1,000 trial sized toiletries were collected in November for homeless veterans. Also, 200 thank you cards were written to our veterans. The items will be delivered to the local veterans hospitals for distribution.
Over 500 pounds of used clothing was collected in February to benefit Valley Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
On February 26, 2018, Builders Club members made 40 thinking of you cards for the staff, faculty and students of Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida where the recent mass shooting occurred.
During the month of September 2018, PJHS Builders Club sponsored a school-wide clothing drive. Over 1,000 pounds of clothes were collected. The clothing benefitted the Queen Creek Kiwanis Club and the Boys and Girls Club of the Valley.
During the week of November 5 - 9, 2018, PJHS Builders Club will be collecting NEW trial sized toiletries for homeless veterans Phoenix. Items that will be collected include trial sized toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and hand sanitizer. The club will decorate bags with patriotic themes and fill the bags with kits of these items. The Phoenix Veterans Hospital will distribute the bags to the homeless veterans.
Chase Markunas collected trial sized toiletries for the Phoenix Veterans Hospital. The hospital will give them to their homeless veterans.
