Hi there!

  • Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! But, more importantly, welcome to middle school at Payne Junior High! My name is Ms. Frantz, and I will be your language arts teacher this year. This is my absolute favorite time of year, and I hope you are as excited about going back to school as I am!

I know that starting junior high is a BIG change, even during a “normal” year. Unfortunately, things are pretty weird out there right now! So, we will be starting this school year online. While this is not what any of us are used to, I am confident that we can make the best of it together!

Now, if you are a STAR student (as I know that you all are!), there are a couple of things that you can do to make sure that you are extra prepared for our first day of online instruction on Wednesday, August 5.

First, I highly recommend that you take a few moments to log on to Google Classroom prior to Wednesday morning.

Even if you used Google Classroom last year, you will still need to reset your password when logging in for the first time this year. On Monday, August 3, I will be sending an email to your parent or guardian with instructions for logging on to Google Classroom and resetting your password.

Make sure that your password is unique, but still easy for you to remember. Once you reset your password, I HIGHLY recommend that you write your password down and keep it in a safe place for future reference. That way, even if you forget it, you will still be able to log in!

Never used Google Classroom before? NO WORRIES! In the first few weeks of school, we will work together turn you into a Google Classroom expert!

Second, make sure that you ENJOY your last few days of summer break and get a good night’s sleep on Tuesday evening! On Wednesday, eat a good breakfast and find a quiet place in your home to begin your first day of school!

I cannot wait to see all of your lovely, smiling faces on Wednesday, August 5!
