Native American Funding Resources
Native American students have been historically underrepresented at many colleges and universities in the United States. To help provide financial support for students who identify as Native American, many colleges and private organizations offer Native American scholarships. These scholarships include full-ride scholarships, awards that support Native American women, and other scholarships that are for minority students in general.
Our Arizona State schools all have scholarship opportunities for Native American students. If you are planning on or would like to see these opportunities - just look below:
- Arizona State University: - https://tuition.asu.edu/financial-aid/american-indian-funding. This is the website for all important information to learn more and apply for ASU scholarship help!
- Northern Arizona University: Types of Aid Funding for Indigenous Lumberjacks - Want to attend NAU, learn more about the opportunities and apply!
- University of Arizona: Arizona Native Scholars Grant - ANS is an institutional grant program that ensures in-state tuition and mandatory fees are fully covered for Native, Arizona Resident, Undergraduate students seeking their first Bachelor's degree.
There are many other funding opportunities. Simple searches will uncover many. Below is one of the largest.
The American Indian College Fund (https://collegefund.org/) gives a wide variety of scholarships, each with different values, ranging up to a full ride for four years. Overall, they have awarded over 143,000 scholarships as of 2021, and distributed over 237.1 million dollars to Native communities. Many of their scholarships are in partnership with other organizations, and as such, the value of their opportunities can vary widely. However, it is an invaluable resource that allows you to plug into many different opportunities with one application. Don’t miss out on this one!
