Casteel High School

Hello! My name is Ms. Anderson. My family is from Mexico and I moved to Arizona when I was in elementary school. I attended high school here in the valley and graduated from Red Mountain High School. I received my B.A. in Psychology from NAU and after graduation I had the opportunity to work as a social worker where I mainly focused on working with teens in the mental/behavioral health system. That experience taught me a lot, and because of it, I feel like some of my strengths are compassion, patience, empathy, and flexibility. I always try to incorporate these characteristics into my classroom and aim to create a comfortable and welcoming space for learning. After working as a social worker for a few years, I shifted careers and went on to complete my M.Ed. in Secondary Education at GCU. I completed my student teaching in CUSD and started in the district in 2021. In addition to teaching at Casteel, I also teach at Chandler Online Academy (COA).
