    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2001and I completed my Masters in Teaching and Learning in 2005 at Saint Xavier University. I began my teaching career teaching French for 9 years in Illinois and then at Willis Junior High. I began teaching math at Payne Junior High in 2010. I had the privilege of working with seventh and eighth grade students teaching courses from Math 7 to Algebra 2. I participated in the Arizona Mathematics Project for 4 years completing professional development, research and curriculum writing.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My philosophy is that students learn math best when they have an opportunity to engage with mathematics, can practice and formalize their understanding and are able to apply the mathematics to real-world situations.
