    My Education and Professional Background

    While originally from Southern California, I moved to Arizona during my senior year of high school and graduated from Basha High School. After high school, I remained in-state to attend Arizona State University. I graduated with my Bachelor's in English Literature, and later received my Certificate in Secondary Education. Over the past six years at Casteel, I have had the opportunity to teach: 8th grade English, 9th grade English, Honors English, and Creative Writing. I currently teach both Honors 9th Grade English and AP English Literature. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    Ultimately, my goal is to have students leave my class with a deeper understanding and appreciation for English literature and composition. Whether a student enters my class with English already being their favorite subject, or never having picked up a novel before, I am determined to make them realize that there is something to be gained. English Literature can speak to each and every student, if they are willing to open their minds and give it a chance. I hope that my classroom can serve as a catalyst.
