    My Education and Professional Background

    I began my education by earning an Associates Degree in General Studies from Chandler-Gilbert Community College. I continued my education by earning my BA in Elementary Education, grades K-8. I successfully taught elementary school for 8 years, gaining most of my experience in Kindergarten, 4th grade, and 5th grade. During this time, I pursued a MA in Educational Leadership with a Principal's Certificate from Northern Arizona University. Within this time frame, I also received endorsements for SEI and teaching Middle School Language Arts. I have been teaching 7th grade now for many years. I love sharing and developing my talents at Casteel High!

    My Educational Philosophy

    As an educator, I believe in creating life-long learners that can achieve anything. It is crucial that each child grows academically on a continual basis. Positive attitudes and their willingness to try will help students to achieve this. Teachers are a crucial part of demonstrating the process of growing through always improving their quality of instruction to reflect many different philosophies and practices within education, both new and old. The 21st Century has proven to challenge many individuals in areas of technology, rigor, building relationships, and so much more. I believe in growing life-long learners that can lead in the jobs of tomorrow while understanding the importance of the jobs from today and yesterday.
