    Welcome to College Prep English (Dual Enrollment) and English 11. Here you will find general course information, as well as my contact information. Please feel to reach out with any questions or concerns that you have.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I am originally from Wasilla, Alaska, though I have lived in Laramie, Wyoming for the past seven years. This is my second year in Arizona and I'm happy to be here! 

    A little about me:

    • I obtained my Bachelors degree in English with minors in Creative Writing and Anthropology in 2019.
    • I also have a  Masters degree in English Literature with an emphasis on 19th century women writers that I received in 2021.
    • I have a Graduate Teaching Certificate through the University of Wyoming. 
    • I taught First-Year Writing at the University of Wyoming for two years.
    • I have experience teaching Dual Enrollment in Arizona. 
    • This is my second year teaching at the secondary level and I am very excited! 

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that every student should feel safe, accepted, and respected every time they enter my class. I believe that reading and writing are essential life skills that students should feel confident about mastering before entering the real world, no matter what future vocational or educational endeavors they plan to pursue. I believe in challenging my students to approach literature and writing with an open and empathetic mind. Together, we can do anything!
