    My Education and Professional Background

    I have my degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Education and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Kansas State University.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe in the power of "yet" . It is easy to say, "I'm not good at this" or "I don't know how". If you add in that magic word, it suddenly becomes "I am not good at this...yet" and creates a mindset of potential! Students need the opportunities to try new things and master skills they never realized they could do. CTE creates experiences that will prepare students to be successful in their adult lives and Early Childhood Ed courses are some of those amazing classes CTE has to offer!

    I chose Perry High School when moving from Kansas City because of student achievement, academic focus, and school spirit. I taught Culinary Arts last year (2021-2022 school year) and am so excited to move to Early Childhood Education and continue to teach at Perry!
