Welcome Class of 2028!!
We are pleased to welcome you to PUMA NATION!!!
Freshman Puma Families,
My name is Maggie Borze and I am the Dean of Students overseeing and supporting the Freshmen class. We are excited that you are joining our Puma family! Perry is known for its strong community and commitment to the success of all students. I'm a military brat, but call El Paso, Texas home. I graduated from New Mexico State University with my degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English/Language Arts. I'm a lover of literature, so I recevied my first Masters degree in English from NAU in 2012. This is my 19th year in education; I was a junior high school and high school teacher in Mesa for 12 years. I was a club sponsor and coached the varisty Pom team and badminton team! I then became the secondary English Language Arts instructional coach for the Higley Unified School District where I supported all of the 6th-12th grade English teachers in the district. I earned my Masters in Educational Leadership from NAU in 2023. I am now in my first year as dean of students and I am loving being a Puma!
As the Dean of Students, the freshman class is my priority. Starting high school can be intimidatign and exciting, but there are many resources available to help make the transition smooth. Our caring faculty and staff are vested in supporting our students and will work hard to make each student feel welcome and part of the Puma family. High School is a time to make build friendships and make memories, so I strongly encourage all students to get involved! We have a number of clubs, teams, and organizations; there is truly something at Perry for every student.
I am excited to partner with our parents and supporting our students throughout the next four years of their lives. Communication is key; we will send out a weekly newsletter, The Paw Print, which includes many resources and valuable information. Also, please keep an eye on your ParentSquare for any information from their teachers and administration. Finally, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have via email or phone. Together, we will make this experience a positive and memorable one.
Sincerely,
Maggie Borze
