Cactus Collective Exhibit - March 2022

  • Perry High students won Best of Show for their Cactus Collective exhibit at Scottsdale Fashion Square unveiled on March 2. Perry was the only high school participating. They competed against 14 working artists in an open call from Scottsdale Public Art to design an 8 ft. tall Styrofoam cactus based on one of Arizona's five C's. This group chose copper as their theme and wanted to pay respect to all the mining towns in Arizona, as well as the Indigenous tribes that have copper mines on their land. The Scottsdale Cactus Collective exhibit is on display through the end of March. Congratulations to Perry Sculpture teacher Sharon Biemond and her students.
