Myers, Jason
My name is Jason Myers.
I have a degree in Communications from Eastern New Mexico University (go Greyhounds!) and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University.
My teaching career has been a great adventure. I have been fortunate to teach in the Chandler District for the last 22 years. I have taught 7th grade US History, 8th Grade Government/Economics, and 8th grade US History at Willis Junior High, as well as US History and AP US History at Perry High School.
I am excited to continue teaching APUSH at PHS again this year. My favorite challenge in teaching is trying to figure out how to incorporate different disciplines into my teaching. I enjoy working with other teachers to integrate Science, Math and Reading into the Social Studies lessons that I teach. I find it rewarding when those ideas actually work.
When I am not in the classroom, I love spending time with my wife, Alexis, and our two children, Anna, and Sam. As a family, our social life revolves around our local church.
Lastly, I have a fervent love of the written word. The last several years I have been fascinated with Presidential biographies. I am currently reading one on Dwight Eisenhower, usually with the ever-present cup of coffee. I look forward to applying what I am learning in the classroom.
