Mr. KeithBiography
I am very proud to teach at Casteel High School for the 2023-2024 school year. This will be my 14th year as a teacher in Chandler. I am excited for the opportunity to be teaching Engineering and Career Exploration, and sharing my experiences with the students. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked at the General Motors Desert Proving Ground in Mesa for twenty years. When GM decided to close the facility and move it to Yuma, I looked at this as an opportunity to do something that I had always wanted, teaching. Before leaving GM, I began taking classes at ASU, where I earned my Masters of Education. During that time, I performed several internships in Chandler along with my student teaching, and believe Chandler Public schools to be the one of the finest districts in Arizona.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family which consists of my wife and three children. Tracie and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary this school year. She is also a teacher in Gilbert. All of my children are now adults, and moved on into their own careers. My oldest child, Matt is currently a apprentice electrician and has a family of his own. Matt and Ashley made me a grandpa a few years ago with Remington who is now 3 and he has a younger brother named Ruger. My other sons name is Logan and he is a welder/millwright and travels the country rebuilding powerplants. My only daughter, Morgan, is a firefighter with Rural Metro. She graduated from the fire academy this summer and was the only girl to complete the academy. I couldn't be more proud of all my kids. My hobbies include riding quads, fly fishing, hiking, and camping. I also enjoy attending local sporting events, as well as extracurricular school activities.
I am an organized person and strive to learn new things whenever possible. I believe that all my students come to me for a reason and I try hard to meet all their needs. I am constantly finding myself getting lost in my work and am always trying to find fun, new, and creative ways to teach.
