Soccer is a sport that I started playing as a youth which I feel is critical to building a strong foundation of athleticism.  As a coach for younger children, I think it is important to have a structured training plan but we must not forget the psychology that is involved in keeping our kids engaged and keeping the game fun.  Player development in technical and tactical abilities is just as important as stressing other key elements.  Coaches can be an integral part in developing the personalities, respect, sportsmanship, and responsibilities of these young children.  My reward is in seeing kids blossom to being better players and citizens.

I have trained and played with some great players and coaches that are well known in US Soccer.  Leveraging these many "mental notes", I hope to teach these young soccer players how to continually improve.  Positive reinforcement and "coachable moments" are important as well as an enthusiastic energy they can feed off of.
