    JoAnn Spurlock

Ms. JoAnn is going into her 13th year with the program and has earned her CDA through CGCC.  Prior to coming to CUSD, JoAnn was a cosmetologist and a stay-at-home mom to her 4 children, all adults now.

JoAnn's favorite thing about working with young children is watching them grow from year to year and encouraging that growth with what she's learned through her 193+ hours of ECE training.

As her family grows into their own individual selves and have families of their own, Ms. JoAnn has a bit more time for things she enjoys.  Things like decorating, cooking, traveling, antiquing, crafting, gardening and shopping with her adult daughters.

Jo-Ann loves watching the imagination of the children come to life as they play and seeing how their creativity evolves turning art into masterpieces.

     Favorite book:
"Put Me In the Zoo," by Dr. Suess.

"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."
    ~Dr. Seuss

    Madie Gonzales

Ms. Madie is a Perry graduate and came to us through the Early Childhood Program on campus. She spent two years in the program as an intern before coming on as a regular staff member after graduation and we couldn't be happier!  Altogether, Madie is in her 5th year in our program and going strong in her third year with our two-year olds!  Madie is currently attending CGCC.

Madie is a creative soul who enjoys listening to music and drawing.  She also loves bringing her creativity to the classroom with the projects she does with the children.

Ms. Madie's favorite thing about early childhood education and development is being able to teach the children about new things that help them develop and grow. She finds a child’s ”a-ha" moment to be very rewarding.

    Favorite Children's book:

    "Corduroy," by Don Freeman

"To every child-I dream of a world where you laugh, dance, sing, learn, and live in peace and be happy."
    ~Malala Yousafzai
